The Newest Merchandise
I've started making amigurumi and you may wonder what that is so I will post the definition here.
Amigurumi lit. crocheted or knitted stuffed toy) is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed animals and anthropomorphic creatures. The word is derived from a combination of the Japanese words ami, meaning crocheted or knitted, and nuigurumi, meaning stuffed doll. Amigurumi are typically animals, but can include artistic renderings or inanimate objects endowed with anthropomorphic features, as is typical in Japanese culture.
I've been enjoying it so far. My family is telling me what they would like to see and what they believe will sell in my booth at the market and in my shop online.
My first attempt at sewing the parts together left a bit to be desired. And that was a bit unpleasant for me after so many years of crocheting. I am getting the hang of it now much better.
So, let's see what I have been working on....

Crocheting for Me
I've been so busy getting inventory done and orders made that I haven't crocheted anything for myself in quite a while. In the last two weeks, I have corrected that. It's so nice to be wearing something I've made again. It gives me a warm, pleased feeling.
I do not have a picture of the shrug I made for a particular dress and I will try to get one and post it soon. I do have a picture of each of the skirts I've made myself.
This brown one has open work in it. At the office i wore brown leggings underneath it and they were actually quite attractive that way. Outside the office I wore shorts under it. It could also be used as a bathing suit coverup. 100% acrylic. Not my design and the pattern can be found here.
This skirt I made to match the shirt. I ran out of the original green yarn but had one almost identical had the house. It does appear lighter in this photo. It isn't, however, that noticeable in person. Go figure. It has very few open stitches in it but I do have a half slip on under it at the office. The skirt, my design, was made to wear with the shirt. 100 % cotton.
I'm happy enough with the results that I modeled for my blog! I don't generally model.

New Bikini Design
After much prodding from others and procrastination on my part, I have completed a new design for a string bikini. I have one more thing to tweak but this is basically it (no one but me would be able to tell the tweak).
I initially didn't believe I was capable of designing one (I'm getting better about that) and looked at other patterns but they were never exactly what I wanted whether it be in terms of style of material used.
And it is completely lined. No small feat for me.

Modeling Their Gifts
My aunt was sweet enough to send me a picture of her grandchildren modeling the sweaters I made. The children are so cute!

Finished Objects
I have pictures of a few FO of the many I did this season that I can share with you.
I suppose we can start with the shortened version of the vest I have made. I shortened it for my sister and made it small and short for my niece. She seems happy with it.
Now her mother's version.
This side of my family is so very good about actually modeling their things for me! I can't thank them enough.
I also made Mary a cowl. They live in California put certain times of the day can get windy and chilly I have been told. She layers well.
She can wear a hat of any kind. Actually both she and her daughter can. I like to make hats for them and should do it more often.
I've made cowls for my mom and one of my other sisters and couple for me. I just do not have pictures of these yet.
Here is my baby sister in hers. I have such beautiful sisters.
Now for my beautiful mother.
I made a few hats and scarves for some men.My oldest.
Here's a sweater I made for myself!
And fingerless mittens. I've given most of them away already but here is a pair (well one of a pair) I kept for myself.

Aunt Mary's Gift Commissioned By Mom
I'm going to make me one of these. I just love it and it looks so good on Aunt Mary in the pictures she just texted me. It is made form #10 cotton thread and it's well worth the effort that is.
You can find the pattern here. I took the liberty of changing the yarn it was made with. I feel I got something heirloom and elegant out of it. I hope Aunt Mary does as well.

Wedding Gift Finished!!
I was worried about completing my nephew's wedding gift since he had to move his wedding date up more than an month. I finished it. His wedding is this Saturday. Now I need to concentrate on making sure I get all the pics of the day he wants.
He doesn't even know about this blog so I feel it is safe to post the pics now. My sister in California can see them and be included before the wedding day like everyone else if I do.

Friend's gift
I have a friend I work with that is leaving. I'll miss her both professionally and personally. But this is a good thing for her. A few of us are all going to lunch with her today before her last day here. Though I don't expect her and I to totally lose touch, I have made her a gift. And if using it keeps me in here mind and her in touch more often, that won't hurt my feelings. :)
Dish towel, dishcloth and sponge.

She had her birthday!
Gwendolyn's birthday was Saturday and she opened her gifts. She called and told me they were adorable!
I myself am a bit disappointed. The pants are too short. How did I mess up on that? I have trouble getting the gauge sometimes but it's always bigger. I have to use smaller hooks to get it right.
Here at the pics.
